I reckon the banner idea is a good one! Although making the banner, and getting it up there without a crane will definitely be the challenge...We could use my old school motto from the banner that we used to stick on Shit Bridge on the Barwon.. "No Guts No Glory"...
I am thinking that the club needs a little encouragement as we approach the big bend.
Prehaps a huge 12 foot banner strung between the staging struts saying "Go house", and some huge Kenwoods pumping "danger zone" as we fly by the flight deck.
all tickets gone now.
reports of the hedonistic carnage shall be posted here.
Only one mabee two tickets left!
ONLY 5 tickets left!!
Some of the participants include many of the talented Women's eight. AKA "The gun Show", our New Zealand import, the greek Adonis and Bingy. There is also a group representing the small people who talk too much.
come join the temple Precinct where the hedonistsic activities will keep all amused. imported wines and champage, glorius food, friendly atmosphere. Temple will be located in carpark 754 and 755 in the nursery carpark, flemington racecourse, on cup day.
Only 5 Ticikets left!!
we are charging $130 to cover expenses.
contact Hatsi or Binglis!
I'm officialling at the big bend so looking forward to plenty of action there!!
And with tommorows race shall see the unvieling of teh golden budgie.
Shane recons that the short course (only 8.6km) has ruined his fast corner trick at the end of teh brewery straight. Aparently it used to confuse teh hell out of all those young kids.. Still Fosterling may not be teh best on all those upstream corners, and shane may hold him off. At 10 seconds apart.. it will be interesting and fun.Unlike last week which was insane and windy.
I think all 134 scullers hsould be on the river at the same time by 9:00am... all ten seconds apart.. 8km's of them lined up head to toe.. exciting.
Well we are at the front & back of the field with alot of got chances ( shane & bingles) and not so much chance (me) position 99 too start there could be alot of overtaking required. I ovieously didnt suck up too the handicapper over the coarse of the season enough... Good luck too you all & hoping there are good conditions, that there are no swimmers , no more epo scandels with cc moving into the skinny boats as we could have a smokey, & rick may be the bandit. Have a good row
Swan street should be very interesting... We shall see how many sculler we can fit through the center arch.
If I can make it before the big race I will be on the bank supporting all scullers in the PHRC Cup. Tide and wind against the oldies at the front so make the most of it as the youth of the Club will be charging home, should be interesting at Swan St Bridge. Good luck to all competitors in the Dud Cup for tub boats. We will discover who has been the SUPER fox of PHRC. JOD
Round 6 is the race we have been waiting for all season. Who's going to win?It won't be the Pirate as his boat will end up as a wreck on the rocks as the Bingles & Shane show come barelling through. However they won't catch the half slide specialist who'll spin the Hills Hoist Clothes line out of the way.Dougie will get stage fright and let the show slip through his hands. As for Benson, he'll be too busy swearing at his demons to worry about us .
P is for Powerless, but P is also for Pirate. Would'nt it be a shame if a Pirate ship came over the horizon and captured the plate.
The Tension is building, will they or wont they give us a powerhouse round 6 & who will victorius in the great slug match, will the newbies hold off the dark night (shane) & bingles or will it be rolly barrelling through on the half slide to show us how it is done. we will have too wait & see. what about the the tub boys for the trifeca in the dennis cup what order will it be & who will triumph. Looking forward too the wash up.....
Now see here - I am not called 2 fins for nothing. Why 2 fins you say? Well tks to that D for disaster viii they think I race with a bow number so I can steer upside down.To "Keep the Tradition Alive" Hills tried it on last Sat - nasty piece of work he is.Warning ADA will be waiting at the landing after next Saturdays penultimate heat.
yes I feel ashamed...
will endevor to crush you like a bug next time
Oh Yes ! I forgot about Ian too. That makes it a rather congested field. But he won't be out in front laughing as much as I was last Saturday in your race Bingles .
Don't forget about Ian..
he wiill be out front laughing at us!
If Rollys prediction comes true, Bensons is definantly going in at the Swan street bridge as I may get too pass someone again. It has been a highlight of the series for me as it was the first ( for the series) & possibly the nastiest pass of all time. too petes credit he stayed upright. Looking forward too chasing you down again
Can't wait for that one. An all PHRC heat.Let me see. If no one makes the Herald Shield final then the starting order would be:P1 PeteP2 DougP3 JohnP4 JeffP5 RollyP6 BinglesP7 ShaneShane and Bingles would be handicapped out of contention. Pete and Doug would be taking too long thinking about winning so it would be up to us three in the middle to execute a win. Could be very interesting.
