On Saturday morning our landing received a healthy injection of concrete. Ably assisted by Micky "hired guns" Taylor, and Ange "Don't back chat me, i know slabs" Rizzardi. The pour was successfully carried out whilst the club started up its head of the Yarra campaign. Much credit of the successful pour can be attributed to the captain’s work building the boxing. Ange says he did a "ripper job".

Not to be seen on site were Lil Ange. Rumour has it that Lil ange was destined for a concrete epitaph. The rumors of Lil Ange's demise have so far come to naught. He escaped the pizza oven, and now the pioneer boots... A certain set of gumboots may not have been so lucky.

Angelo estimates that the landing may be completed in as little as a week and a half. The concrete will be strong enough to drive on in a week, and then it will be a case of wheeling in the crane, bolting on the steel supports and pylons. The pontoon installers will be flying in to assemble the large mecano set that currently leans against the club. Ange tells me that they will drop it over the side, and then float it into position.
