Hi all,
After 12 weeks, (11months for some!) we are now closing on the culmination of our preparation. Hence we have the following weekly ergs...
1) 1000m test. Recommend warm-up lasting minimum 10min, you should be sweating lightly prior to start. This is a flat-out, maximum effort for 1000m. I'd expect nearly everyone in the club to be under 4min, so it isn't that long to suffer! A good aim is to lop around 4-5sec from your 2000m split and make that your first 500m. Then just go for home.
Please record your score and send to me.
2) Warm-up 1000m @ +15, then... 30min steady state R24-25 @ +5 to +7. This is relatively easy on the legs and will ensure you aren't losing aerobic capacity within all the sprint work we are doing on the water.
Enjoy, Drew
P.S. All the Mens A/B squad will be doing their 1000m tests PRIOR to rowing on Wednesday night. Obviously we only have 9 ergs, so as soon as you arrive at the club, grab a machine and get it out of the way. Mens C/D/E rowers down that night are welcome/encouraged to join in.
