Results are in From round 2, and we see the addition of two more powerhousians to the leader board. Ian had escaped notice by rowing under the guise of the Victorian rowing school, and Jeanette was absent in round 1.

The slow conditions of the day suited our scratch markers, both Binglis and Shane rowed down 5 of their opponents. Shane was unlucky not to finish with a second. On the other hand Binglis was quite content to have Benson in second place. The two sculler put on a sterling display of letting the rest of the field catch up over the last 500m.

Some sterling rows, the most exciting being the running of the Denis cup (MTB). the field has been reduced to one heat, and is now largely composed of team powerhouse. despite the furious competition of a very tight field, craig cooper stopped to chat with a friendly MUBC competitor. After swapping advice on how to steer the course, tips on personal high-gene, and how Melbourne was going to go in the footy; Craig went on to finish second. the fast finishing Pullin was unlucky not to trounce a couple of young lads who were not yet up to shaving.. but he did row down Carew who is hoping for a better handicap next week.

Jeanette had some problems with a large unmovable object, but is hoping that the slow time will encourage the handicapper to make a mistake. Also having a miserable story is Doug. When asked weather he was excited about his wife's excellent second place result, he said that he may have to stay away from home for a few days. Doug will have to lift his game if he is to claw back those points in the macmanamy challenge. John and Roland also had some disappointing finishes... But Roland was heartened by the reduced number of scullers in his race, and some valuable points went his way.John hopes that the handicappers will be seeing it his way next week..

Ian has continued his good form, and was the only sculler to maintain his sss margin. (seconds slower than shane.)  He was exactly 1min39 seconds slower than Shane on both rounds. It seems the handicapper has caught on to jeff hill's game plan, and shoved a spanner in the works. Some tough opposition, and an early start time put Jeff in the middle of the field.

Benson and Ian share the lead, but are being helped somewhat by their generous handicaps.. Next week may see them being punished. Shane and bingy are hoping for some strong head winds, some nasty conditions could see them catching up with the rest of the club as handicap fatigue sets in. Rolly, Janette, and john are still languishing at the tail of the field, and need a leg up. prehaps next week will be theirs.
