Development Rowing Squad

Develop your rowing skills

If you have done a bit of rowing already, and your objective is to improve your skills, our development squad is a great fit for you.

Our Development Squad is geared towards those that have:

  • completed a learn to row program (that included sculling)
  • rowed as a junior or at school
  • are coming back to rowing after a hiatus from the sport, or
  • are transferring from another club and need to refresh or uplift their skills.

The Development Squad aims to develop rowing skills in both sculling and sweep to a standard that will enable rowers to be able to integrate into the senior squads of the club and participate as a valuable crew member.

Coaching is provided by accredited club volunteer coaches with extensive rowing experience, and participation in social rowing and fun events is encouraged.

Our Development Squad is open to rowers from 18 years or older, as long as you have a reasonable level of fitness and can swim, but you must want to have fun!

Train as much or as little as you like, development sessions are available several times a week, generally in the morning, afternoon-early evening and Saturday mornings.

To become a Development Squad member, you are required to be a member of Power House Rowing Club.
