LIGHTNING SQUAD
Youth Winter Development Program
Forged in Winter. Ready for Summer.
The athletes who make the biggest gains aren’t waiting for warm weather — they’re building their edge now.
Power House Rowing Club’s Lightning Squad is an 8‑week winter development program designed for Year 9–12 rowers who want to lift their technique, fitness and racing confidence before the summer season begins.
This is where committed junior athletes train with purpose, learn from elite experience, and build the habits that set them apart.

Coached by Two World-Class Athletes
Patrick Rocek — World Champion, European Champion, Elite Technician
Originally from Como, Italy, Patrick brings international racing experience and a high‑performance mindset shaped at the top of world rowing. As part of Italy’s Lightweight Men’s Quad Scull, he achieved:
- Winner of World Cup Lightweight Single Scull (2024)
- World Championship Gold (2022)
- Three consecutive European Championships (2020–2022)
Patrick comes from a powerhouse sporting family — his parents competed at elite levels, and his twin sister Aisha rowed for Italy at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games. His coaching blends technical precision, race‑ready discipline and a genuine passion for developing young athletes.
Special guest coaching by Hannah Every‑Hall — Olympian, World Champion, National Champion
Hannah is one of Australia’s most respected lightweight rowers, with a career spanning nearly two decades at the elite level. Her achievements include:
- World Championship gold (2002) in the Lightweight Women’s Quad
- World Championship silver (2014)
- Olympic finalist at London 2012 in the Lightweight Women’s Double
- Multiple National Championship titles in the lightweight single, double and quad
- A remarkable comeback after time away from the sport, returning to dominate national competition and re‑earn Australian selection
Hannah also holds a Masters in Nutrition, bringing athletes evidence‑based guidance on fuelling, recovery and performance. Her coaching style is energetic, technical and deeply athlete‑focused — ideal for juniors who want to learn from someone who has lived every stage of the high‑performance pathway.
Together, Patrick and Hannah create a coaching team unmatched in junior winter development programs.
