Start Your Rowing Journey at Power House
Our Learn to Row program is the perfect starting point for anyone who’s ever wanted to try rowing. Whether you’re completely new to the sport or returning after time away, this four‑week program will teach you the fundamentals in a supportive, friendly and confidence‑building environment.
With a strong club culture, experienced coaching and access to our rowing tank, ergs and on‑water fleet, Power House is the ideal place to begin.
Program Overview
Across four weeks, you’ll learn:
- How to set up a boat and understand rowing technique
- How to row safely and effectively on the water
- How to build rhythm, timing and confidence
- How to use the rowing tank and erg to reinforce good habits
- How rowing works as a team sport and how to progress into club rowing
No experience is required — just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Program Structure
- Start date: Sunday 12 April
- Duration: 4 weeks
- Sessions per week: 2
- Wednesdays 5:30pm
- Sundays 9:30am
- Location: Power House Rowing Club, South Yarra
A typical week includes technique instruction, rowing‑tank work, erg training and on‑water sessions as skills progress.
Your Coach – Abi Schlicht
Abi has a passion for developing new rowers, with a coaching style that is clear, patient and confidence‑building. She specialises in helping beginners understand technique from the ground up, ensuring every participant feels supported and capable from day one.
Cost & Inclusions
$300 per participant
Includes:
- All coaching
- Use of boats, oars, ergs and rowing tank
- Insurance coverage for the duration of the program
