With the masters season wrapped up, it’s time to turn our attention to the Winter Sculling Program — a uniquely Melbourne tradition featuring ten races open to all ages and abilities. It’s a great way to build skill, endurance and confidence, all while enjoying those still, crisp winter mornings on the Yarra.
To learn more about the program, we’re hosting Pasta Night: The Art of Sculling — an evening of good food, great company and real insight from those who know sculling best. Hear directly from past and present competitors and organisers as they share the history, culture and what to expect across the ten‑race season.
We welcome David Orchert, who will deliver a sculling masterclass. David coaches a highly successful youth program at Yarra Yarra and has helped develop many outstanding rowers — including Olympians — all of whom began by becoming technically strong scullers.
It’s an evening not to miss:
A delicious pasta dinner
An introduction to the history and culture of Winter Sculling
A practical masterclass to help you improve each session
