Coaching Excellence Drove a Dynamic 2026 Season Kick‑Off

Published Fri 27 Feb 2026

Power House Rowing Club launched the 2026 rowing season with a Rowing Camp that promised to set the tone for the Club’s annual training plans and ambitions and it delivered!

Skilfully led by newly-appointed Power House Rowing Club Head Coach, Patrick Rocek, the Camp's program drew on Coach Patrick's extensive experience as a World Champion and coach. This resulted in a weekend featuring a variety of motivating and constructive sessions including ‘Technique & Tank’, ‘Training’, ‘Application & Mixed Crews’ and concluded on a high-note with a ‘Consolidation’ session on Sunday.

In addition to Head Coach Patrick, Power House Rowing Club was grateful to Hannah Every-Hall for her invaluable coaching on Saturday. Hannah is an Australian Olympian, World Champion, elite rowing coach and former Power House Rowing Club Womens’ Squad Coach. Patrick and Hannah’s combined approach provided a clear pathway for members to develop their skills, challenge themselves as well as enjoy working together in groups.

The Ppwer House Rowing community showed tremendous support for the Camp with high attendance and enthusiastic feedback. In its lead-up, the surge in rower numbers required many last-minute adjustments. Thanks to the hard work and efforts of Cinty, everyone who registered was able to participate. Jo, Phil, and Cate were also thanked for the snacks and lunch which contributed to everyone’s energy levels.

Special thanks from all the participants went to Head Coach Patrick Rocek and Hannah Every-Hall for their expertise and leadership over the weekend.

With the season off to such a positive start, Power House Rowing Club is excited for the training and regattas to come.
