Power House Rowing Club is pleased to welcome Monash University Rowing to the Club!

Under a new agreement, MURC will base their training program out of PHRC over the coming months as they prepare for the University Games at the end of September. The group includes close to 40 new Associate Members with training sessions scheduled three times a week.

This is a significant development for PHRC. Unlike previous arrangements where Power House has hosted university colleges for regatta preparation, the MURC rowers are joining PHRC as Associate Members. This means they will be part of the Club community and will be bound by the same member obligations as other PHRC Members.

Most of the MURC group are experienced rowers many having rowed at school and a number also coach at schools across Melbourne. A small number of novice rowers are already enrolled in the Club’s Learn to Row program.

For Power House this arrangement is an important step in building a stronger, younger membership base and supporting the long-term future of the Club. It also brings new energy into the shed, more activity around the Club during Winter and an opportunity for MURC rowers to become part of the wider PHRC community.

This arrangement is a big step towards Power House strengthening its connection with younger rowers and supporting the next generation of Club Members.
