Welcome to our new Head Coach - Patrick Rocek

Welcome Patrick to the Power House community!  Patrick brings a wealth of coaching experience from both Australia and Europe having worked with athletes ranging from youth to Masters and elite levels. In addition to his new role at PHRC, Patrick will continue his current coaching position at Wesley College where he is responsible for its Year 10 squad.

Patrick’s background and achievements

Patrick Rocek is originally from Como, Italy, and has an impressive record as a rower. He was a member of the Italian Men’s Lightweight Quad Scull crew that achieved remarkable success securing three consecutive European championships from 2020 to 2022 and winning the World championship in 2022. Patrick comes from a distinguished sporting family with his parents having competed at the elite level in rowing and volleyball and his twin sister, Aisha, being an elite rower who represented Italy at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

Vision for comprehensive rowing program

Patrick is eager to develop and oversee a rowing program that caters to everyone from novices to competitive rowers and embraces the Lord Somers Camp and our Power House ethos ‘making a positive difference within our community’.
