On Sunday 14th September, Power House Rowing Club opened its doors to the community for a fun filled and welcoming Open Day that showcased the best of rowing and club camaraderie.
From the moment guests arrived, the energy was infectious. Visitors enjoyed guided tours of the clubhouse, learning about the club’s rich history and facilities. The ever-popular sausage sizzle and BBQ kept spirits high and stomachs full, while the friendly indoor rowing competition sparked laughter and light-hearted rivalry among participants of all ages.
One of the day’s highlights was the opportunity for newcomers to experience rowing firsthand - either in the safety of our indoor tank or out on the water under the expert guidance of club members. These sessions gave many their first taste of the sport and sparked genuine interest in future involvement.
The event was a resounding success, attracting several new members and generating strong interest in upcoming Learn to Row programs. It was a true celebration of community spirit, with families, friends, and curious locals coming together to share in the joy of rowing.
A big thank you to all the Power House members who volunteered their time and energy to make the day run smoothly. Your enthusiasm and generosity were the backbone of the event and a shining example of what makes our club so special.
We look forward to welcoming new faces to the boathouse and continuing to grow our rowing family.
