It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of two long-time Power House Rowing Club members,  Kenneth Frederick "Ken" Dowdney and Bill Raper,  both of whom made enduring contributions to our club and community.

Ken Dowdney passed away peacefully on 4 June 2025 at the age of 91. Ken was a tireless and dedicated member, especially remembered for his significant involvement during the club’s vibrant dance era. His energy, enthusiasm, and deep connection to Power House left a lasting impact on generations of members. Bill Raper passed away on 14 June 2025. Bill was an influential figure in the club’s formative years during the 1950s. As a member of the winning Maiden Eight in 1951 and Novice Eight in 1952, he helped build the competitive reputation of Power House Rowing Club from its earliest days. His passion for rowing and steadfast dedication to the club’s development left an indelible mark. You can read more about Bill in Chapter 2 of the Club History.
