Saltwater Challenge

Power House had its first regatta hit-out of the season at the 2026 Saltwater Challenge, hosted by Essendon Rowing Club on the Maribyrnong River.

The event is a 4500m head race, so it was a solid early-season test. Not even the threatening wind and weather could stop us, with PHRC crews getting back on the water and putting some race kilometres into the legs.

There were some solid results across the day, including 2nd place in the Female Masters Quad Scull, with Catherine Ashley, A. Batiwalla, A. Everett (CARM) and Emily Harridge, and a mix of Power House and composite crews competing across the Masters events.

It was a good opportunity to put winter training into practice, get some race experience under our belts and start building towards the season ahead.

A good first hit-out for the season. Go House!
